Concerning Julia: as if it was beyond the ability of the average programmer to distinguish between 0-based offsetting and 1-based indexing. And, the speaker was clearly unaware that they were many meaningful observations about the language he could have made, and considered science and engineering computing, including machine learning and data science, “niche”. (I think someone should inform the tens of thousands of companies world wide that engage in this niche activity that they are wasting their time.)
